A ‘U Value’ is a measure of heat loss in a building element such as a wall, floor or roof. It measures how parts of a building transfer heat. This means that the higher the U Value the worse the thermal performance of the building envelope. A low ‘U Value’ indicates high levels of insulation.
In the current financial climate and with ever increasing energy prices it is imperative to be energy efficient right throughout your home, for example using A rated windows and doors, comparing energy prices and finding the cheapest supplier, turning down your heating and turning off lights around the home and sockets that aren't being used.
